Woman arrested for alleged hate crime in Oakland, CA

A woman was arrested after she allegedly went off on some Asian people on 9th and Broadway in Oakland, California, reports ABC 7 News. The incident took place on August 4th and was captured on a couple of surveillance cameras. One woman told ABC 7 News, the suspect spat on her, hit her, and called her an “Asian b***h.” The store owner in the video seen holding a folding chair said the woman told him and others to “go back to China.”

The woman was arrested and put on a 51-50 mental health hold.

Oakland, Chinatown has seen a string of crimes caught on camera recently. In one case, a good samaritan was shot while trying to intervene during a purse snatching.
