Canadian authorities are looking for a Toronto couple on the run who are accused of murdering a Vancouver man. Yun Lu “Lucy” Li, 25, and her boyfriend Oliver Karafa, 28, have been charged with murder and a warrant has been issued for their arrest, reports the National Post. The two allegedly killed 39-year-old Tyler Pratt and tried to kill a 26-year-old woman. Hamilton Police Service spokesperson Jackie Penman said all four knew each other.
On February 28th, Police arrived at 347 Arvin in Stoney Creek, British Columbia around 7:15 pm and found Pratt shot dead and a 26-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. Pratt was pronounced dead at the scene while the woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The police said Li and Karafa fled the crime scene in Karafa’s Land Rover. Authorities have not released a motive for the crime.
The two suspects come from wealthy families.
Yun Li is the daughter of a prominent Chinese-Canadian businesswoman. Yun and her two sisters, the three of them are triplets, have been described as social media influencers. She has no history of trouble.
Slovakian-Canadian Oliver Karafa on the other hand got into a car accident while intoxicated that resulted in a death. In 2012, Karafa was driving drunk and speeding in his Land Rover when it crashed into a pole on Mount Pleasant Ave in Toronto. As a result, his passenger, 24-year-old David Chaing, was ejected from the car and killed.
Toronto Police believe the two left the area. It is unclear if INTERPOL has been alerted.
