Three men have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of San Jose, California resident Tong Nguyen. Nathaniel Talivaa 20, Jenevee Pritchard, 23, and a juvenile aged 16 were charged with murder in what authorities called a gang ambush shooting, reports East Bay Times. The three suspects were arrested on March 16th.
48-year-old Tong Nguyen was found shot dead on February 9th, 2021 on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of East Santa Clara St, reports CBS San Francisco News. He was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the three suspects are members of the Sons of Samoa gang. Detectives said the three suspects were in a car driven by Talivaa and they were following behind Nguyen. At one point, Pritchard and the juvenile got out of the car and started following Nguyen on foot while Talivaa drove ahead. The two suspects on foot allegedly ran up on Nguyen and one of them shot him.
It is unclear why Tong Nguyen was targeted.
Nathaniel Talivaa, Jenevee Pritchard, and the juvenile face murder charges with a gang enhancement. The three are currently in jail without bail.
