Suspect arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting 67-year-old Asian woman in Fremont, CA

A 28-year-old Hayward man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 67-year-old Asian woman in Fremont, California. The incident occurred on Thursday morning around 11 am near Grimmer Boulevard and Blacow Road, reports ABC 7 News New York. Police arrested Alexander Lomax who is suspected of an attempted sexual assault earlier in the day.

According to authorities, police were on call near the area when they spotted a man sexually assaulting the Asian elder. They stopped the attack and the victim was transported to the trauma center for her injuries. Lomax was taken into custody and authorities found that he might have been involved in another assault earlier in the day.

The earlier incident involved a 57-year-old woman who was walking in the area of Fremont Boulevard and Auto Mall Parkway. Lomax allegedly punched and pushed her to the ground before he tried to sexually assault her. A bystander intervened and scared the suspect away.

According to police, Lomax was identified in both incidents.

Police have charged Alexander Lomax with sexual assault, elder abuse, and battery. More charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
