Steven Yeun has just won the “Los Angeles Film Critics Association” (LAFCA) award for “Best Supporting Actor” for his role in the movie “Burning”. I have no idea what this award is and how they declare a winner. But I’m guessing its an award Los Angeles film critics give out to honor people in the movie industry.
Steven Yeun, who is best known for getting batted to death on “The Walking Dead”, has been building a nice resume post “The Walking Dead”. In “Burning”, a South Korean film directed by Lee Chang Dong, Yeun plays Ben, a Korean American, who might or might not be a serial killer. It’s a film where they don’t say and you’re left to your own thoughts.
But Steven Yeun wasn’t the only Asian thing to win an award. Two Asian movies won the “Best Foreign Language Film”, reports Indiewire. “Burning” and the Japanese film “Shoplifters” tied and got the nod for “Best Foreign Language Film”.
Steven Yeun thanked the Los Angeles critics on his Twitter after he found out he and the movie “Burning” won.
Quite the year for the Korean American actor who is also expecting a second child with his wife. Congratulations on a great 2018 and looking forward to what you do in 2019 and beyond.
