Oakland Chinatown market vandalized with racist graffiti

The New Tin’s Market in Oakland’s Chinatown was vandalized with racist graffiti last week, reports NBC Bay Area. “Go back to China yellow f***,” the graffiti said, reports the Mercury News. The owner of the market, Tony Cheung said vandals moved the security camera so there is no footage.

Cheung has owned the market for 20 years and it’s been 15 years since a similar incident occurred at New Tin’s. He said the vandals left three messages and a drawing on the wall.

According to the police, the vandals hit the store twice on November 10th and November 11th.

“It felt very hurtful. Didn’t know what to do with it,” Cheung told NBC Bay Area.

Police are investigating. No one has been caught.
