NYPD looking for man who allegedly punched Asian man and making anti-Asian statements

The NYPD released images of a man who is wanted for allegedly assaulting an Asian man on February 15th. According to CBS New York, the incident occurred in Harlem in front of Fred Samuel Park on Lenox Avenue.

The 27-year-old Asian male said he was pushed by the suspect while he walking to his car. He asked the man why which resulted in the suspect allegedly making anti-Asian statements and punching the victim in the face. The suspect then fled taking off east on West 139th Street.

The victim suffered from pain and swelling to his face.

The police are investigating the matter as a hate crime.
