A Milford, Connecticut man has been arrested after he allegedly yelled “go back to China” at a man wearing a face mask. According to WFSB, 38-year-old Joseph Rohrig faces charges of “second-degree harassment and third-degree intimidation based on bigotry or bias.”
According to police, the incident occurred on Hill Street and West Town Street on March 30th. Joseph Rohrig allegedly pulled up to the victim in his car and berated him for wearing a mask then told him to go back to China. He then allegedly reversed his car and pointed it at the victim.
The victim called the police and an arrest warrant was issued. Rohrig was arrested on April 1st. He was jailed and released and will have to appear in court on May 10th.
