Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly stole from more than a dozen women in Chinatown-International District, Beacon Hill, and Rainer Valley areas in Seattle, reports SPD Blotter. 26-year-old James Credit was arrested on Tuesday at a Renton car rental lot. Police allegedly found a loaded handgun on the man. The suspect is a convicted felon and is not legally able to possess a gun.
The suspect is accused of primarily stealing from Asian women in the 40 – 80-year-old age range. He allegedly stole their purses and bags by approaching his victims outside Seattle grocery stores and snatching their possessions before fleeing in a car
The Seattle Police Department’s Bias Unit is investigating the matter because of the targeted victims. He is currently in King County Jail booked on multiple theft counts and unlawful possession of a firearm.
