The “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung made short work of Renato Moicano on UFC Greenville. The 32-year-old fighter out of South Korea landed a huge right hook and a left that sent the Brazilian to the mat. Jung followed him to the ground where he fired off numerous punches before the referee stepped in and stopped the fight. It only took him 56 seconds in the first round to get the finish. For this great finish, Chan Sung Jung won the “Performance of the Night” award and pocketed a cool $50,000.
This win should get the Korean Zombie back into title contention in the featherweight division. Chan Sung Jung came into this fight as the 12th ranked fighter in the division and beat the brakes off Moicano, who was ranked 5th. Although Jung came into this fight with a loss to Yair Rodriguez, he is a fan favorite and he was winning that fight until he got knocked out in the last second of the fight with a freak elbow. So the best route for the Korean Zombie would be another fight with someone in the top 5.
Hopefully he’ll get that and another title shot for the belt. Let’s go war Korean Zombie!
