Husband and wife couple arrested for allegedly robbing two Asians in Massachusetts

Police arrested a husband and wife couple for their alleged involvement in a couple of robberies in Quincy, Massachusetts. According to NBC News Boston, Brian Kenney, 34, and Angelina Kenney, 38, were arrested at their home on Friday. Although both robbery victims were Asian, police said “there is no indication that these incidents were motivated by hate. Rather, they were crimes of opportunity and theft was the motivating factor.”

Both robberies took place near the North Quincy train station on February 18th. The first incident took place around 4:45 am in the area of West Squantum St and involved a 69-year-old Asian man. He was walking toward the station when he was attacked and robbed of his lunch bag. The victim suffered serious injuries and is still in the hospital with neck fractures.

The second incident took place around five hours later at 9:55 pm on West Squantum and Divisions streets. A 55-year-old Asian woman was leaving the station and had her shoulder bag stolen from her. She was not injured.

A witness followed the suspect, recorded him on camera, and retrieved the victim’s bag.

Brian Kenney and Angelina Kenney were charged with unarmed robbery of a person 65 and older and unarmed robbery. The two were arraigned on Monday and Angelina was released on $500 bail. Brian was held on $7500 bail but had his bail rejected for two unrelated incidents.
