Homeless man helps Asian woman who was racially harassed on NYC train

A 34-year-old Asian woman was racially harassed by a stranger while riding the New York City train on Thursday, April 15th. According to NBC New York News, the woman who wished to not be identified was riding the Q train near 96th street when the incident occurred. The man was sitting across from her when he allegedly started spewing “racist crap.”

“He said a bunch of things like (expletive), a bunch of things in Spanish,” she said. “The man across from me started spewing random racist crap. I told him to go away because I didn’t want to hear any of that, and he just got more aggressive.”

The man approached her and pointed his finger at her and that’s when a homeless man on the other end of the train yelled at him causing the suspect to walk off.

“Before he could actually do anything, a homeless guy on the other end of the train shouted at him and ran over and he left,” the victim said. “I’m very thankful for him.”

Police are looking for the suspect.
