Canadian cafe manager says she was assaulted and racially harassed by customers

An Asian woman who manages a Richmond, Canada cafe said she was harassed and assaulted by a couple at the business. The incident occurred at Rocanini Coffee Roasters on Moncton Street on March 29th around 3:15 pm, reports Global News. Nikki said the incident started after the couple would not adhere to the COVID rules.

According to the Daily Hive, the couple ordered a couple of drinks then the man brought in a table and chairs from the outside because there were no available inside seats due to limited seating because of COVID. He placed it right in front of the washroom blocking the entrance. The couple was offered another table but they refused to move. The managers continued to ask them to move which escalated into the man pouring his coffee on the ground followed by the woman who also did the same. As the couple left, the female customer and the manager got into an altercation involving both of them throwing something at each other.

Nikki said the woman said “‘F–k you Chinese,'” those kinds of things” during the altercation.

Nikki then followed the couple outside with her camera to their car where the man said that his wife is “not well” before he said “F**king Chinese.”

Police were notified and a 74-year-old woman was arrested and released. Authorities are still investigating the incident.

Interestingly enough it looks like this isn’t the first time the white male customer showed his dislike for Chinese people. In 2019, he went off on an Asian woman who confronted him about illegally washing his car. “I hate f**king Chinese,” he said. Like an old broken record.
