Brooklyn laundromat employee beaten with bottle of detergent

A 47-year-old Asian woman who works at a Brooklyn, New York laundromat was assaulted by a female suspect on Monday, April 5th. The incident took place at 6 Star Laundromat & Dry Cleaners on Clarendon Road in East Flatbush around 5 pm, reports the New York Post. Surveillance cameras caught the incident unfold.

The suspect can be seen going behind the counter and looking for something. The employee comes from the back and confronts her. The suspect walks away but the employee grabs her which causes the suspect to hit the employee over the head with a bottle of detergent. The suspect walks away but returns and repeatedly hits the employee with the detergent until the victim falls to the ground.

Police said the suspect then fled with a shopping cart. The victim suffered from bruising and swelling to her face but refused medical attention.

Police have ruled out bias as a motivating factor in the crime. They are looking for the suspect.
