An Asian woman was racially harassed while walking in Brentwood, California. Twitter user Em @3mman3mz said she was at the intersection of Bundy & Montana around 5 pm on February 10th when a man came out of his home and approached her. She caught the man on camera calling her “stupid blue hair Asian girl” and “dumb b**ch.”
Em said she notified the police but the officer she talked to told her “it would’ve been easier if he’d swung at you” and “being threatened is subjective.” Additionally, for some odd reason, he brought up that he “grew up with Japanese people.” So it looks like the cops won’t do anything.
“I have lived in this city my entire life and never felt threatened in the way I did today,” she said. “This man singled me out bc I was an Asian girl walking by myself and took advantage. We need to hold bigots like these accountable.”
This is the second Asian woman that was harassed this week on camera. In Astoria, Queens, New York, a man repeatedly asked Ming “Why do Chinese people eat dog,” until she fled from the scene.
UPDATE-2-13-21- The man has been identified as California realtor Michael Dalcin. He was let go from his position at “Beach City Brokers” after the video went viral.
