Asian woman punched and kicked during robbery in Queens

Surveillance cameras caught a violent robbery in Flushing, Queens, New York, reports CBS News New York. The robbery and assault occurred outside an apartment building on 35th Avenue and Linden Place on Tuesday. The 44-year-old Asian woman was thrown to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked in the head by the assailant who stole her pocketbook.

The police said the incident does not appear to be a hate crime because it does not look like she was targeted because she was Asian. The woman suffered minor injuries. The suspect is still at large.
