Asian woman ducks out of way of man trying to punch her in West Portal

An Asian woman nearly got punched in the face as she was walking on West Portal Avenue in San Francisco, reports ABC 7 News. The woman who wanted to be identified as Ms. Tang said she just left the optometrist after she had her eyes dilated and was waiting for her husband to pick her up when she saw a man walking towards her. Surveillance video caught a man taking a swing at her but luckily she was able to duck out of the way.

“I saw him walking toward (my) direction. He tried to strike me and I was able to duck and scream at him. I said, ‘What’s wrong with you!?'” she said.

She initially stayed quiet until she saw a news report on ABC 7 News of an elderly man who was punched in the head on the same street. Both victims were attacked on the same day and only 90 minutes apart.

“When I saw the 72-year old get punched. That 72-year old is Asian too. And I’m Asian,” she said.

Furthermore, days earlier, a 14-year-old girl was punched in the face by a man on the same street.

Police are investigating all three incidents. All the victims think it’s the same man, however, at this time police have not determined if it’s the same suspect.
