Asian man assaulted in Queens Plaza subway station

An Asian man was attacked at the Queens Plaza subway station in Long Island, New York on Sunday, April 18th. According to Patch, the 22-year-old victim was attacked from behind by an unknown assailant around 1:30 pm. The victim was hit in the back and chest before the suspect fled the scene.

The victim was injured but refused medical attention.

Police released CCTV video of the alleged attacker. Authorities are investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old Asian woman was smacked in the head by a stranger on a Brooklyn subway train, reports the New York Daily News. The victim was riding a Coney Island-bound D train through Borough Park when a teenager allegedly told her “Get off my train, you don’t belong here,” then slapped the back of her head.

The victim did not require medical attention after she got off the train at Ninth Ave.

Cops released surveillance image of the alleged suspect.
