80-year-old Asian woman attacked in San Francisco – bystanders come to her aid

An 80-year-old Asian woman was assaulted by a 40-year-old man on Friday morning in San Francisco, California, according to police, reports NBC Bay Area News. The incident took place around 9 am in the area of Gough and Hickory Streets. Police arrested Christopher Nadon who was stopped by two bystanders in the area.

According to witnesses, Nadon allegedly pushed the elder to the ground, continued to attack her, and tried to steal her phone. A bystander intervened and Nadon ran away, according to police. The bystander chased him and was aided by another bystander who pushed Nadon to the ground. The two held the suspect down until police arrived and arrested him.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Christopher Nadon was booked at San Francisco County Jail on attempted robbery, false imprisonment, elder abuse, battery, and kidnapping charges.
