A 16-year-old girl was shot to death while hanging outside with her family on Friday evening around 6:45 pm in Bayview, San Francisco. According to CBS San Francisco News, the victim was gunned down while sitting down on her skateboard in the middle of the street. A 45-year-old woman was also shot but she’s expected to survive. The names of the victims have not been released but [email protected] tweeted the victims were pacific islanders.
The shooting occurred on July 30th near the corner of Bertha Lane and Hudson Avenue. A neighbor who witnessed the shooting said he heard the victim’s father yelling “They shot my daughter! They shot my daughter.”
The witness said the father put his daughter and the 45-year-old woman into his truck and drove them to the hospital.
Police found six shell casings in the area.
“We don’t know if it was targeted or if it was random,” SFPD spokesman Officer Adam Lobsinger said. “What we do know is a 16-year-old female lost her life last night in the Bayview due to gun violence. And that’s why it’s so important for anybody with any information to come forward.”
